Deep Fried Cajun Turkey Recipe

2 – 10 to 14 pound turkeys
Peanut oil
1 cup salt
1/4 tablespoon black pepper
1/2 tablespoon cayenne pepper
Cajun Marinade
2 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
1 tablespoon crab boil
1/4 cup apple cider
3/4 cup honey
1 bottle of light beer
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon Allspice
1/2 cup Creole spice
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 pinch ground cloves

Combine the salt, pepper and cayenne pepper. Rub mixture into skin and refrigerate 6-8 hours.

For Marinade: The marinade is essential to this Cajun fried turkey recipe. Combine all the wet ingredients. Add the dry ingredients. Puree them in a blender on high speed for about 4 to 6 minutes. Puree thoroughly and place marinade into a turkey injector.

Heat oil in Indoor Butterball Turkey Fryer to 350 degrees (Fahrenheit). This can take anywhere from 45 minutes to one hour, depending on how much oil.

While the oil is heating, inject the marinade into the turkey.

Once the oil is at 350 degrees, place the turkey in the basket and gently lower it into the oil using the fryer’s handy basket handle. Fry the turkey for about 3 minutes per pound. When enough time has passed, lift the turkey from the oil and check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer. The inside of the breast should be about 170 degrees F.
